ABOUT CARLOS ARANGO “CLOS”
Carlos Arango, also known as CLOS, is a Mexican artist born in Southern Mexico, Oaxaca de Juárez, in 1970. From a young age, CLOS showed a great interest in art and creative expression, and began to develop his own style through painting and sculpture. However it was the death of his mother when he was 9 years old that made him retreat into his sketch books, filling them with comics and characters that he created out of his own imagination.
CLOS is known for his focus on existential themes and his technique of figurative expressionism, which allows him to explore deep issues and complex through the representation of human figures and forms abstract.
His works are vibrant and colorful, and often have a strong emotional charge that invites the viewer to reflect on life and human nature.
Among CLOS’ most important influences on his work are artists Jean-Michel Basquiat and Jackson Pollock, who inspired him to develop his own unique style and to experiment with new techniques and materials. CLOS has exhibited his work in numerous galleries and museums around the world, and has been recognized for his contribution to the world of contemporary art.
Throughout his career, CLOS has explored a wide variety of themes, from the human struggle against oppression and injustice to the beauty of nature and hope in difficult times.
